Performance22’s youth training program has been based on our extensive experience in training adolescent athletes. Training programs focus on long term athletic development, injury prevention and constant improvement, through the implementation of an age-specific training program.
 

Young athletes are not just copies of their adult counterparts. Therefore, training parameters, especially intensity and volume, are constantly adjusted so that  each exercise is always safe and effective.


All programs are designed to fit each athlete’s special needs, tailored to his/her developmental and training age, emotional profile and personal goals.
Young athletes work in small groups in a fun, motivational environment and always under the close direction of Performance 22's coaches.


As each age offers a "window of opportunity" to develop certain physical attributes, training for each age group is adjusted accordingly:

 

AGE: 10 - 12

- Have fun and learn through play
- Teach proper movement mechanics (Acceleration, lateral movement, cutting, jumping, landing)
- Teach simple exercise techniques and progressions
- Reduce the chance of injury by increasing neuromuscular control
- ABC’S – Agility, Balance, Coordination
- Establishing healthy eating habits 

 
AGE: 13 - 16

- Progress to more systematic training
- Perfect movement mechanics (Acceleration, lateral movement, cutting, jumping, landing)
- Focus on building strength and learn basic lifts
- Introduce advanced exercise techniques and progressions
- Reduce the chance of injury by increasing strength neuromuscular control
- Speed and Agility Training
- Establishing healthy eating habits

 

AGE: 16>

- Intensify training
- Plyometrics and Explosive Training
- Focus on building Strength and Power
- Introduce advanced exercise techniques and progressions
- Reduce the chance of injury by increasing strength neuromusclular control
- Speed and Agility Training
- Conditioning and Season Specific Training
- Establishing healthy eating habits

 

 

* All sessions are closely supervised by an experienced performance coach to ensure safety and proper instruction. Groups are kept small (no more than 5 athletes per coach) so that each athlete will get full attention and coaching.

** Work out with you teammates! Team training (groups of >4) can be scheduled and priced accordingly.

*** Athletes over 10 years old are eligible to participate in our  performance enhancing programs.
